It seems like a long time between parts, but it’s finally here! So who’s excited? Who’s re-reading the book before they see the movie? How many of you are going to see it ASAP and how many are waiting till the excitement dies down or even waiting for the DVD?
The film beings with Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) stealing the Elder Wand, and with shots of Hogwarts under Snape’s totalitarian reign. We then see Dobby’s tombstone, which bears the engraving “Here lies Dobby, a free elf.” Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) then talks with Griphook (Warwick Davis) about the sword of Godric Gryffindor, and the vault of Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter). Harry, Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) agree to give Griphook the sword in exchange for his assistance in breaking into the Lestrange vault. Harry then asks Mr. Ollivander (John Hurt) to identify two wands that were stolen at Malfoy manor. They then discuss the Elder wand, and the deathly hallows.
