Book Addicts Book Group Selections – September 2007

Posted on August 29, 2007March 29, 2010 by Elle - Reader of Books

We have three really different books featuring this month in the Book Addicts Book Group.

Gone with the Wind – Margaret Mitchell

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – JK Rowling

The Princess Bride – William Goldman

I am committed to reading two of them, the last two on the list. Though at the moment reading is a bit of a struggle until I recover 🙁

Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows I have already read as Amazon.co.uk very kindly delivered it to me on publication day greatly discounted and with free postage! lol And I had to read it immediately. Then it went on holiday to Spain with my sister 🙂 But I will read it again because a. it’s good and b. SG is hosting and she is our resident HP guru.

The Princess Bride I somehow have never got around to reading before. I don’t know why, maybe because I have seen the film a few times and am often looking for something ‘new’ to read. That’s what I like about the Book Group, you get the opportunity to read and discussion something that maybe you’ve always been meaning to read but somehow haven’t. (Oh yes and we had a posting contest for August and the prize was a copy of this book, which went to KS.)

Gone with the Wind is one of my mum’s favourite films of all time and she has a couple of copies of the book too, but I’m gonna have to pass on this one this time around as I just have too much on my plate at the moment.

Coming up in October…

The Stand – Stephen King

Thief of Lives – Barb and JC Hendee

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance – Robert Pirsig
